Picture Yourself Helping
One of the things that draws me to independent designers is how many of them generously give back in some way to our global community. I want to try and shine a spotlight on designers when I see them giving back. In today's Bridal Jewelry Blog I was made aware of an amazing project by wedding photographer David Hessemer. It is called Through Their Eyes and is aimed at raising awareness of world poverty through pictures. What makes this project truly unique is that the ones taking the picture will not be the professional photographers, but the young people of the villages that they educate on camera use and give cameras to. I can not wait to see the images that come out of this project. Please take a minute and follow the links to read the full story on the plan.
In an effort to raise money and awareness for this cause jewelry designer Rebecca Dotson has designed a special pair of earrings that she has named "Golden Opportunity" and is donating 50% of the purchase price to Through Their Eyes. As if it isn't enough to be helping a good cause, these earrings are gorgeous! They are made in Swarovski's hot new Cosmic crystal, in this year's very popular "Golden Shadow" color (a personal favorite of mine). I have a good bit of personal experience with Redot Designs (Rebecca's company), and I know that quality is a guarantee.

See, I told you they looked great. How often can you say that you bought something so pretty to help the children in Africa?
